Sabbatical – The way to myself through a step into the unknown

I have done this before. When I felt foggy about myself, the world, the path, I would leave, go away, fly away.

This year was special. In terms of courage, risk, uncertainty, and at the same time fulfillment, sincerity, depth, and love.

Who would have thought that the most unpopular and extremely difficult decision to leave corporate work, stop all projects, avoid signing new contracts, and just surrender to the process of “wherever life takes me” would turn out to be an absolutely transformative experience? It led me down the path of self-love, with a new understanding of what it truly means, supported by loving people around me. It brought new projects and the most breathtaking experiences I could have never even dreamed of.

It was a year of a creative break – sabbatical, a period of inner transformation, searching for myself and new meanings. I didn’t find any new ones, but instead, I strengthened my understanding of who I am, why I’m here, and how I want and can contribute to this world.

In my travels across Britain, Argentina (from Iguazu to Patagonia), Chile, Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, the USA, Italy, and the Balkan countries, I experienced so much. I suffered and overflowed with emotions, I marveled and reveled in it all. I walked on the razor’s edge along a mountain ridge at an altitude of 5,000 meters, saw the Rainbow Mountains, sailed across the world’s largest navigable high-altitude freshwater lake, touched glaciers, dove into the ocean, flew in a helicopter, rode horses, and witnessed extreme poverty alongside outrageous luxury. I found myself between life and death, met healers and shamans, adventurers and impostors, travelers and businessmen. Through each person who came into my life as a teacher, I understood my intentions more deeply, stumbled upon the flaws in my character, and realized what I need to work on.

My journey to God within was so powerful, so full to the brim, dangerous, and intense that I couldn’t fit it all into one note.

I think it would be useful to share the lessons I learned and the conclusions I reached:

  • Travel doesn’t solve problems, but it definitely helps to see things from a different perspective.
  • Travel isn’t about the places; it’s about the people who live there. No matter how stunning the view is, it’s the personalities and their stories that leave the biggest impression.
  • The path to self-discovery doesn’t lie through oneself. We meet ourselves best through others and through challenges.
  • Any problem will be solved faster if it is internally accepted and let go, while externally taking active steps to improve the situation.
  • Whatever happens, always strive to find love within yourself (I sound like a preacher, but this is something I’ve truly realized).
  • Even the worst storm will eventually pass.
  • If you’re pulled by an undertow, don’t resist—let the current carry you.
  • For dreams to come true, you need a dialogue with the Universe, a project-based approach, and an inner readiness to “let it all be according to God’s Will.”

I was searching for “Who am I?” and rediscovered myself in what I’ve been doing for a long time—so I will continue with my IT and non-IT projects and begin working on my new dream projects: the School of Harmonious Woman Development and retreat centers—starting in Ukraine, and maybe beyond. These will be places for the restoration of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual strength, where people can come to find themselves and reach new levels of life awareness.

I want to end with a beautiful quote from Slava Se:

Life will unfold however it wishes—just never boringly. Only events that tighten the coil of the plot will fall upon us. Peace is impossible because it is dramaturgically empty. Instant retribution doesn’t happen, because that wouldn’t be interesting. And dreams always come true inaccurately and out of time. Everything will inevitably happen differently—this is the only law of the Universe.

Let everything happen according to the Law of the Universe.
